Las Aldeas, Monastrell El Serrano 2020

“Las Aldeas” are the small villages located inland Spain which where once founded to attend the work in the crop-fields and vineyards, and nowadays have been silenced due to city exodus. These wines are a tribute to those villagers and their lifestyle – a reminiscence of passed times. Made from 100% old-vine Monastrell (Mourvedre), El Serrano is an inky ruby in colour and has been aged in French oak foudre for 6 months. The nose is intense and complex with elegant blackcurrant, blackberry and spiced aromas. The palate is full bodied and velvety, with smooth enveloping tannins. Well balanced with a lovely mineral finish, it's a great pair with red meats, game and stews.
